Import Traffic Specialist

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.
In this role you will process and handle air and ocean import shipments, ensuring the highest quality standards and provide service solutions meeting or exceeding our customer’s requirements.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DEMONSTRATE?
Essential is your ability to:
Receive and track customer bookings/orders while following the process specified
Handle and manage all customer contact at file level
Open import files and forward documentation to CHB in a timely manner
Provide accurate job costing forecast
Work with sales on account implementation
Communicate and ensure release of freight from ocean/air carriers and dispatch freight for delivery
Notify customer/broker of arrival and charges
Update Track and Trace proprietary applications
Bill/invoice each file to the respective customer
High School diploma or GED
Bachelor’s degree in related field, desired but not required
Two to three years of experience in imports or combination of education and experience
Knowledge of all custom laws, practices and procedures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Must be self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently
Must be detail oriented, have the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
